This subject area a strong and high demand topic for both researchers and engineers.
Optimisation Theory and Techniques reveals wide spectrum and diversity of the methodologies in use, such as: Hill Climbing, Simulated Annealing, Tabu Search, Genetic Algorithms, Evolutionary Computing, Ant Colony, Particle Swarm, and Bees Algorithm.
